The Quick Reference Guide for Clinicians is an excerpt from the Clinical Practice Guidelines, Cataract in Adults: Management of Functional Impairment. Guidelines are developed on a variety of medical conditions by private-sector panels commissioned by the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR). The Quick Reference Guide for Clinicians (AHCPR publication 93-0543) should be used in conjunction with the Clinical Practice Guidelines, Cataract in Adults: Management of Functional Impairment (AHCPR publication 93-0542). The Quick Reference Guide for Clinicians is not intended to stand alone in helping the clinician make treatment decisions. A patient booklet, Cataracts in Adults: A Patient's Guide (AHCPR publication 93-0544), is also available. To receive guideline products, contact AHCPR Publications Clearinghouse, PO Box 8547, Silver Spring, MD 20907; telephone: 1-800-358-9295.
