Abstract

Perimetry Update 1992/1993 puts into print the proceedings of the 10th International Perimetric Society Meeting held October 20 to 23, 1992, in Kyoto, Japan. The book contains a selection of papers and posters that were presented at the symposium and are written in a journal-style fashion. These papers were subject to and subsequently passed peer review for publication. In general, the range of topics includes various aspects of visual field testing (both conventional and nonconventional methods) and field assessment, visual field testing as it pertains to glaucoma and neuroophthalmology, ophthalmic imaging, and a variety of miscellaneous topics.

The first section of the text appropriately begins with a selection of papers pertaining to visual field analysis and management. Specifically, the authors address issues such as the bracketing testing in automated static perimetry, analyses of the sensitivity and specificity of the various visual field indexes, and alternative methods of detecting focal changes
