Abstract

To the Editor.  —I deliberately do not use the word "new" on any procedure because frequently someone has described it or a similar technique in the past. In reference to the specific question in point, Drs. B. Jones and L. T. Jones do use a similar technique. In my experience I have not found it necessary to leave tubes in these patients. Almost all the patients are symptom free for six weeks postoperatively. If failure of fistulization occurs at this time, I place a silicone tubing into the nose for two to three months.
