To the Editor Mallen-St Clair and colleagues1 provided a wealth of data in their recent article on the epidemiology and treatment of lacrimal gland tumors. The authors have unfortunately overlooked a flaw in the methods that significantly limits the utility of the data. In the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program (SEER) database, tumors of both the lacrimal gland and lacrimal sac are coded C69.5.
