Chondrosarcomas are rare slow-growing malignant tumors, accounting for fewer than 1% of laryngeal tumors.1,2 As of 1998, there were approximately only 250 cases reported worldwide.3,4 However, because the early literature failed to properly distinguish between chondromas and low-grade CSs, the true incidence of these tumors has most likely been underestimated.1
