Abstract

This excellent British book is published in the United States by Williams & Wilkins Company. It follows the Chinese dictum that one picture is worth a thousand words. Hence, the illustrations are excellent. The text is entirelv adequate. Successful local anesthesia is dependent upon a thorough knowledge of anatomy, use of the right drug, and management based on previous experience. Technique is, of course, also basic. All of the elements to be considered in local analgesia are well combined in a way which makes the text readable, even enjoyable.
