Abstract

To the Editor.—I recently reviewed the editorial "Closed Versus Open Technique in Surgery of Aural Cholesteatoma," which appeared in the October 1967 issue of the Archives. This article is essentially a letter by Dr. Shirley Baron, and I feel that it might have been better placed under the caption "Letters to the Editor." When titled as an editorial, the reader infers the editorial policy of the Archives to be that all cholesteatomas of the middle ear or mastoid should be treated by the "open" technique regardless of their size or location.
