The Indian Dead Leaf Butterfly on a leaf

Arch Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2012;138(5):441. doi:10.1001/archoto.2012.762

Photographer: Larry Bryant, Chicago, Illinois. The Indian Dead Leaf Butterfly can quickly camouflage itself for protection against predators. Simply by closing its wings, it takes on the form of a dead leaf. Although normally found in tropical climates, this photograph was taken at The Butterfly Farm on the island of Saint Martin in the Caribbean.
