This book will be of little use to workers on this continent. The authors, after coining a few new words to make the "nem" system work in estimating diabetic diets, utilize about a third of the book to expatiate on the advantages and uses of this system in diabetes. The last two thirds of the book consists of recipes and tables of food values, which might have been useful had a more familiar terminology been used.
