The etiology, pathology, symptoms and diagnosis are taken up in the first eight chapters. The remaining two chapters are devoted to treatment. The author is electroradiologist for the Hospital Enfants-Malades in Paris, and therefore he greatly stresses the treatment from a physical therapeutic standpoint. His hope is that eventually there will be special hospitals devoted only to the treatment for poliomyelitis, in which hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, actinotherapy, massage and operative procedure will be coordinated to the best advantage for the patient. It is an interesting monograph.
