The title of this small book may mislead those who read only titles. The busy practitioner may put the book aside, assuming it is concerned purely with research and has no practical value. However, the subtitle, "Experimental and Clinical Studies with Suggestions as to Diagnosis and Treatment," describes the content more accurately, for the book is filled with aids to the clinical diagnosis and treatment of disturbances of bladder function resulting from neurologic disorders. The authors, who are all well known in their respective fields, have done a vast amount of research on the bladder function of experimental animals and of man in health and in disease. Their cystometric studies on the measurement of intravesical pressures have furnished a scientific approach to the study of bladder function.
