This excellent book is the second in the series sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science and addressed to the intelligent layman. The problems of allergy are as complicated and confusing as any in medicine, but Dr. Vaughan has discussed them in a most interesting and understanding manner. His chapters on immunology are particularly noteworthy for their clarity of presentation. The 23 well annotated line drawings aid in gaining a clear mental picture of the fundamentals of the subject.
"Strange Malady" is a book which will go far toward educating the general public to a better understanding of the medical enigma of allergy.
