This book is intended to present in compact form a general view of diseases of the skin. The authors have carefully planned the illustrations, adhering to a ratio of almost a picture a page. The material is presented in a clear, concise manner; thus the volume will be especially valuable for general practitioners and undergraduate students. The book is well organized and, despite its small size, the common and many of the rare dermatologic conditions are described.

Several omissions regarding therapy are outstanding: Sulfapyridine is not mentioned in the treatment of dermatitis herpetiformis, especially in children; bismarsen is not mentioned in the treatment of chronic discoid lupus erythematosus, and sodium iodide is not mentioned in the treatment of herpes zoster. On page 319 there is an erroneous statement that the Plummer-Vincent syndrome is due to a deficiency of vitamin A.
