Incorrect Total in Table 1 and Number in Text

Arch Pediatr Adolesc Med. 1998;152(3):309. doi:10.1001/archpedi.152.3.309

In the article titled "Tobacco and Children: An Economic Evaluation of the Medical Effects of Parental Smoking" in the July issue of the ARCHIVES (1997;151:648-653), the total costs given in millions of dollars in Table 1, on page 651, should have been 1970. On page 651, the first sentence, right column, under the heading "Overall Total Costs for All Diseases Considered Previously" should have read as follows: "The total cost associated with parental smoking for the pediatric illnesses considered (Table 1 and Table 2) is $1.9 billion per year for direct medical expenditures resulting from more than 5.4 million excess cases of disease."
