Abstract

This book represents the first volume of a collection of papers published by the author over a period of 30 years. The author is a British psychoanalyst noted for his research and teaching in psychoanalysis.

The papers deal with some of the fundamental theoretical principles of psychoanalysis, particularly as applied to the early development of the mind.

The book will be of great value to the student of psychoanalysis but seems much too theoretical and involved to be of practical value to the pediatrician.
