The revised edition of Dr. Taussig's Congenital Malformations of the Heart will replace the first edition as the reference book for those interested in this field of medicine. The book is divided into 2 volumes. Volume I is concerned with the fundamental principles in the clinical diagnosis and medical care of patients with cardiovascular defects. Volume II is concerned with specific malformations. The book differs from the first edition in that it is more comprehensive and has several new chapters added. A summary at the end of each chapter has also been included in this edition. An outstanding feature is the Visual Index. This section is designed to show at a glance the salient features of the various congenital heart malformations.
The book contains little of the physiological studies of the various congenital heart malformations. The surgical aspect of the various anomalies is discussed, only briefly as a means of
