Abstract

Training in Pediatrie Hematology—U. of S. California.—Fellowships in pediatrie hematology and oncology are offered by the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, Department of Pediatrics, University of Southern California.

The program is designed to prepare qualified individuals for careers in academic medicine and research and is planned for each Fellow according to previous experience and individual career goals. The program usually provides training in clinical hematology and oncology, individual instruction in laboratory techniques, basic instruction in research techniques related to hematology, and active participation in research programs. In subsequent years, opportunity is provided for increasing responsibility in conduct of research in keeping with demonstrated ability.

Applicants must possess or be eligible for U.S. citizenship and should have completed pediatrie training acceptable for certification by the American Board of Pediatrics. Preference will be given to applicants interested in training for a period of 2 or more years; however, applications for a single year of training will be considered.
