This authoritative new textbook covers the entire field of pediatric surgery including minor as well as major surgical problems. It includes practically all surgical conditions encountered in children with emphasis on those seen only in the pediatric age group. The book includes surgical conditions of the cardiovascular system, genitourinary system, bones and joints, and birth injuries, as well as abdominal, thoracic, and plastic problems. With 27 contributors, there is some overlapping between sections and minor differences of opinion. Tuberculosis is discussed in detail with 75 pages devoted to tuberculosis of the joints. It provides the student with a good single volume comprehensive textbook of pediatric surgery.

The book is well illustrated and pleasantly and concisely written. Emphasis is placed on the clinical features and diagnosis. Surgical treatment, where it does not differ from that in the adult, is not described in detail; whereas in conditions peculiar to childhood, the contributors
