To the Editor.—The paper by Manley and Collipp, "Renal Failure in the Newborn," (Amer J Dis Child115:107 [Jan] 1968) demonstrates the feasibility of performing peritoneal dialysis in the neonate. I would question the use of this procedure in the case presented. It would seem to me that a much simpler, safer, and more efficacious form of therapy for this patient would have been an exchange transfusion.
