This book contains information useful to all physicians caring for children with gastrointestinal problems. It does not offer lengthy discussions, but considers the clinical aspects of a surprisingly broad array of topics. In addition, a wealth of practical, bedside knowledge is presented and is of exceptional value in evaluating clinical situations and for providing comprehensive care.

The first section of the book deals with the symptoms, signs, and historical features of gastrointestinal significance. It is complete, well written, and includes information relating gastrointestinal complaints to dysfunction in other organ systems. The second section reviews a complete list of diseases. Besides the expected coverage of intestinal, pancreatic, liver and biliary problems, neonatal, metabolic and immunodeficiency disorders are discussed.
