Skin, Heredity and Malignant Neoplasm is a well-written compendium directed toward a problem which seems to have increasing importance as the relationship of chromosomal abnormality and neoplasm becomes more apparent. Thirty years ago the oddities of congenital abnormality and neoplasms were not commonly linked, but further observations clearly described the conditions which are related.

The entities observed by Peutz-Jeghers, etc, and the evidence recognized in Gardner syndrome and Von Recklinghausen disease and other such abnormalities identify a relationship which cannot be denied. Seventeen contributors beside the author write this story. The documentation of observations by various authors is excellent and in general the book is well written, interesting, and factual. Chapter eight on "Neurocutaneous Disease" is especially well done.

Photographs consist of both black and white and color. Diagrams identify chromosomal relationships. The introduction of a chapter on genetic counseling is quite good and poses problems for religious leaders, social
