Hyperphosphatasia and Rapid Growth Following Control of Ulcerative Colitis

A patient showed marked and prolonged hyperphosphatasia secondary to a rebound of bony growth following control of ulcerative colitis. Possible mechanisms for this hyperphosphatasia are discussed.
