The Inter-Society Commission for Heart Disease Resources is a creation of the now practically defunct Regional Medical Programs (RMP). This report, containing long overdue standards for resources aimed at prevention and treatment of heart disease is one of the many accomplishments RMP should be proud of. It makes one bemoan the demise of the program due to lack of continued federal funding.

The commission's national chairman, Irving S. Wright, MD, and its project director, Donald T. Fredrickson, MD, by their presence, guarantee excellence. The members of the various study groups, categorical and general, are all national figures and indicate broad representation not only from medicine, but also from allied health organization. The 400-page volume is a compilation of reports, previously published serially in Circulation, now revised and updated.

After brief introduction by Drs. Wright and Fredrickson there are ten reports covering the entire field from atherosclerosis to congenital heart
