Abstract

• A n42-day-old female infant had neonatal pyogenic arthritis and osteomyelitis due to an unusual combination of streptococcal organisms. Group B streptococci produced an osteolytic lesion in the proximal end of the humerus and suppurative arthritis of the corresponding shoulder. An enterococcus was responsible for the occurrence of arthritis and subluxation of the hip.
