In Reply.—We accept Dr Kahn's recommendation of 2 mg/kg/day as a reasonable and safe starting dosage of dapsone for the various dapsone-responsive dermatoses, including bullous disease of childhood and dermatitis herpetiformis. We agree that a milligram-per-kilogram dosage schedule for diseases that may occur at various ages (and body weights) is a more acceptable method of prescribing.
