Clinical Management of Poisoning and Drug Overdose is an ambitious work with topics that range from the toxic effects of baby powder to a treatise on brain death. With a total of 81 contributing authors, it is clear that the editors had a formidable task in maintaining control over the material presented. The editors have succeeded in gathering many of the true authorities in the field of toxicology together to write many excellent reviews. Chapters, such as that by Kulig and Rumack on mushroom poisoning, are well written and scholarly works that have combined strong practical information in table form with a well-organized text that contains much basic information. In addition, these two authors have made a critical appraisal of this information that enables the student of toxicology to use this material as an educational base. Unfortunately, other parts of the text do not live up to this high standard.
