2012 Certifying Examinations of the American Board of Pediatrics

2012 Certifying Examinations of the American Board of Pediatrics. All applicants for certifying examinations must complete applications online during the registration periods. The final month of each registration requires payment of a late fee. The requirements for online applications may be found on the American Board of Pediatrics website (www.abp.org) or may be obtained by contacting the American Board of Pediatrics. Additional information, including eligibility requirements and registration dates, may also be found on the American Board of Pediatrics website.

GENERAL PEDIATRICS EXAMINATION DATE: October 16-18, 2012

Registration for first-time applicants: December 1, 2011, through May 3, 2012

Registration for re-registrants: February 14, 2012, through May 24, 2012

SUBSPECIALTY EXAMINATION DATES

*Hospice and Palliative Medicine: October 4, 2012

**Medical Toxicology: November 12, 2012

Pediatric Cardiology: November 7, 2012

Pediatric Critical Care Medicine: November 14, 2012

Pediatric Pulmonology: November 8, 2012

***Pediatric Transplant Hepatology: October 11, 2012

Registration for first-time applicants: February 1, 2012, through April 30, 2012

Registration for re-registrants: March 15, 2012, through June 15, 2012

*The American Board of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Emergency Medicine, the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the American Board of Radiology, and the American Board of Surgery, will offer a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

**The American Board of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine, will offer a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Medical Toxicology.

***The American Board of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the American Board of Internal Medicine, will offer a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology.

All applicants for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Medical Toxicology, and Pediatric Transplant Hepatology Certifying Examinations must apply through the board in which they hold their primary certification. Registration dates may differ for each board.
