WE HAVE NOT written many editorials: 5 in the past 8 years, to be exact. We have simply preferred to keep science front and center on our pages. However, we very much wanted to write this one, for it will be our last. We have greatly enjoyed editing Archives of General Psychiatry, but we wish to move on to other challenges and to pass the stewardship of the journal to new editors. In this editorial, we focus on the journal's current scope, style, and substance. We share with you some of our thoughts about what we have tried to accomplish, our reflections on editing, our perceptions of the challenges for the new editors, and our hopes for the future of the journal we have grown to love.
