Abstract

To the Editor.  — We would like to call attention to two errors in our recent article entitled "Epidemiology of Affective Disorders" (Archives 1982;39:35-46). First, the age at onset of bipolar disorder figures reported for the Loranger and Levine study1 were inaccurate. The correct figures are 33.0 ±13.4 years for men and 31.6 ± 13.9 years for women.Second, the statement concerning these figures (p 38) should read "No relationship between sex and age at onset of bipolar depression has been reported," rather than "A similar relationship... has been reported."We regret any inconvenience this may cause readers.
