To the Editor Based on the 24-hour frequency and volume charts of 104 adult men in a Veterans Affairs–based urology clinic, Nassau et al1 analyzed the possible association between nocturia severity, on the one hand, and race and metabolic factors, on the other. We would like to make some remarks concerning this interesting study.1 Most probably owing to the small number of patients included, the authors have restricted themselves to the presentation of univariable associations. We feel that this is a regrettable restriction because nocturia is well known for its multifactorial origin.
