Incidental gallbladder cancer is reported in approximately 0.7% of patients undergoing a cholecystectomy.1 While the need for surgical re-resection and staging portal lymphadenectomy in the absence of metastatic disease is not debated,2 the optimal timing of reoperation is unknown.
