Bariatric Surgery for Autoimmunity?

Bariatric surgery is the most effective treatment option for obesity and its associated metabolic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes. However, obesity is also a risk factor for other conditions, including several autoimmune diseases. Previous small case series have reported mixed outcomes of bariatric surgery on autoimmunity.15
