This book is an interesting and easily readable overview of cutaneous ulcers and pressure sores. Chapters include information on etiology, diagnosis, evaluation, and basic science as well as the history and societal aspect of these difficult problems.

The magnitude of the problem is addressed early:

[T]there is an estimated 1.5 to 3 million individuals in the United States with pressure sores; with an estimated cost of treatment of 6.4 billion dollars annually.
