Trauma Management, edited by Demetriades and Asencio, is divided into 67 well-focused and pertinent chapters, with the able assistance of their University of Southern California colleagues. The tables are evidence based, the pictures are excellent, and the algorithms are functional and helpful. It is a useful primer for house officers and medical students and serves as a concise summary for more experienced surgeons in the total management of the trauma patient.
