The zones of the hand used to describe flexor tendon lacerations are: Zone I: mid finger pad to distal half of middle phalanx; Zone II: proximal half of middle phalanx to MCP joint, inclusive of the MCP; Zone III: distal palmar crease to the mid palm; Zone IV: mid palm to wrist crease, carpus included; Zone V: wrist crease and proximal.1
