This extremely unique and innovative handbook is the first to my knowledge to focus on prevention of errors in the intensive care unit (ICU). In that capacity, it is a very useful reference and guide for trainees and practicing physicians in critical care. It is concise and well written, and the editors and authors are all practicing critical care physicians. There is a wealth of knowledge and specific tips provided in this book that could have a significant impact on reducing common errors in the ICU, resulting in improved patient safety and ICU patient outcome. The authors are to be congratulated for the development of this unique compendium.
