Use of Hemoclips in Cholecystectomy

Metallic clips were used in place of ligatures in 120 consecutive cholecystectomies. Use of these clips is a precise, rapid method of ligating structures, which, because of their location, could be difficult to hold and tie. There have been no complications from use of the clips to date.
