This is an excellent book. It is a companion volume in radiology to Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine. To quote from the preface, This book is not intended to teach the details of radiologic interpretation, which are better left for more specialized monographs in radiologic diagnosis, rather we wish to present a rational and systematic approach to the use of Radiology as a tool to augment other forms of clinical diagnosis in patient care. Thus, it is this emphasis that makes Principles of Diagnostic Radiology ideally suited as a companion volume to the comprehensive Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine which presents a unique and logical approach to medicine through systematic recapitulation of the thinking process by which a physician reaches a diagnosis.

The editors and authors are to be congratulated for having succeeded so well. They have divided coverage of various topics into two basic compartments. The first part, entitled
