This book is a compilation of papers presented at an international symposium on head injuries in 1970. The first part of the conference was held in Edinburgh, and the meeting then adjourned and reconvened in Madrid. There are 99 senior authors who have contributed short chapters on all aspects of head injuries. There are several comprehensive sections on the organization of head injury services in various countries of Europe.

The book's chapters are written individually and therefore there is some degree of overlap.
