This second edition of the monograph on Dupuytren contracture, consisting of a collection of papers by members of the Groupe d'Etude de La Main (GEM), is considerably expanded. It contains approximately double the number of articles in the first edition and covers the subject very thoroughly with few omissions.
This volume is entirely in French, with a complete English version to appear later, a significant improvement over the first edition where French and English versions were combined.
The GEM under the leadership of its general secretary, Raoul Tubiana, together with John Hueston, has compiled this volume of selected articles on Dupuytren contracture. Hand surgeons from Europe, Australia, and the United States–all members of the GEM–present a series of concise, well-illustrated exposés on the various aspects of this disease, specifically and in sequence: anatomy, histology, cause, clinical aspects, surgical treatment, specific techniques, extrapalmar fibromatoses as knuckle pads, plantar fibromatoses, and Peyronie
