It was inevitable! In writing Hazardous to Your Health:A New Look at the "Health Care Crisis" in America, Marvin Henry Edwards has written the book that alleges to "give you forewarning about what will happen if socialized medicine comes to the United States." Edwards worked as a newspaper reporter and editor, and then spent five years in advertising and public relations. Since 1968, Mr. Edwards has been editor of Private Practice, a magazine for the medical profession, and has reported on the political and socioeconomic factors affecting medical practice in the United States. Mr. Edwards writes, This is not a pro-doctor book. This is, indeed, a pro-patient book. For if national health insurance or any of the broad-scale government health programs which have been proposed become law, it is the patient who will pay, in terms of higher medical costs (through increased taxation) and lower quality medical care.
