Surgical correction of giant panniculus adiposus abdominis was performed. A modified suspension system was devised that incorporated the added advantage of mobility and facilitated removal of the 15.9-kg panniculus.

The actual cause of giant panniculus has hitherto been clouded. It is suggested that the increasing panniculus perhaps is secondary to obstructed venous return, which results in increased accumulation of fluid in the tissues.
