Abstract

The relative advantages and disadvantages of the pediatric feeding tube, the Taut cholangiogram catheter, the Edslab cholangiography catheter, the Becton-Dickinson cholangiogram needle, and a bent ordinary 21-gauge needle were characterized in a series of 400 intra-operative preexploratory cholangiograms. The increasing refinement of cholangiogram catheters, combined with the use of a silver clip for intraluminal cystic duct securement of the catheter, increases the facility of routine intraoperative cholangiography.
