Students and practitioners of surgery of head and neck tumors will find this volume not only an excellent addition to their libraries but a text that will be frequently off the shelf and in use. Dr. Barbosa has successfully blended a good text with fine illustrations to produce an easy-touse reference for the surgical management of head and neck problems. Methods of tumor management other than surgery are not discussed.
One must read Dr. Barbosa's preface carefully in order to fully appreciate and understand the purpose of this volume, for it is in the preface that Dr. Barbosa points out the limitations of this work. In these three paragraphs, he is his own best critic. On superficial inspection, one is likely to feel that in some instances methods of management better than those illustrated are available and are omitted.
