In Reply.–We essentially agree with Dr Rumage's remark that it is not necessary for the scrub nurse and surgical assistant to leave the operating room if they can step far enough away from the operating table to be protected against the scattered radiation. However, if there is a sterile area adjacent to the operating room, it would provide additional protection, especially to the operating-room personnel who work daily.
