Abstract

To the Editor.—I read with interest the report by Velanovich et al1 in the July issue of the Archives. In this report, the authors stated that there has not been a previously reported case of foreign bodies impacted within a Meckel's diverticulum. I wish to bring to the readers' attention a report of such a case that was published by myself and Metcalf2 in this journal 27 years ago. Both reports indicate that foreign bodies that do not progress through the bowel of the right lower quadrant may become impacted in a Meckel's diverticulum.
