Abstract

Cushing's syndrome has been cured by resection of a benign appendiceal carcinoid. A small but increasing number of reports are appearing of cases of histologically similar carcinoid tumors from different sites of origin associated with this syndrome. Increased awareness of these potentially curable clinical entities may prevent unnecessary adrenalectomy.
