High-risk individuals should be screened for lung cancer with computed tomography (CT), according to new guidelines from the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP).
In a reversal of its previous position on routine prostate cancer screening, the American Urological Association (AUA) now recommends against such screening in men aged 40 to 54 years who are at average risk for the disease. The recommendation comes just 4 years after the AUA released an updated “best practice statement” that called for initiating use of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels for prostate cancer screening at age 40 years for all men with an estimated life expectancy of more than 10 years.
