Autism Clues?

In persons with Timothy syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disease with autism-like features caused by a mutation that leads to overactivation of a particular calcium channel, the brain exhibits changes in neurons and in neurotransmitter expression, report scientists from the Stanford University School of Medicine and other institutions (Paşca SP et al. Nat Med. doi:10.1038/nm.2576 [published online November 27, 2011]).
