Six years have elapsed since the fourth edition of DeLisa’sPhysical Medicine and Rehabilitation: Principles and Practice was published. The newest edition continues to uphold the tradition of a solid fundamental text for readers dedicated to physical medicine and rehabilitation. A notable change with this edition is the naming of Walter Frontera as the new editor in chief, with Joel DeLisa now emeritus editor.
The chapters are written by established leaders in their respective subspecialities. The chapters are concise and appropriately edited for seamless reading between topics. The text examines scientific as well as clinical aspects of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Clinical medicine is analyzed, from management methods to prevention and treatment of major and secondary complications.
